Restoring The Legend
McConnell's Irish Whisky was originally established in Belfast in 1776, by two brothers, John and James McConnell. After over 150 years of popularity the brand ran into hard times as a result of US Prohibition, ultimately closing its Belfast distillery in 1958.
The brand recently recovered by Conecuh Brands are working on a new distillery in the historic Crumlin Road jail in Belfast. The Crumlin Road jail is not far from the original distillery site on Cromac St.
McConnell's Irish Whisky (spelt with the 'e' as originally spelt) has hints of vanilla, nutmeg and other spices and aged in American Oak Barrels.
